Daifuku Powers Automation at Synnex Australia’s New Melbourne Facility

Daifuku has delivered the automated solution for Synnex Australia’s new Oakleigh South headquarters and logistics centre, officially opening in April 2025. The project, the latest in a long line of logistics centres delivered across Asia Pacific, marks a significant step in strengthening Synnex’s national logistics capability while showcasing both organisations’ commitment to innovation and operational excellence.

The 44,000 sqm site features a 35-metre-high, 4,283 sqm high-bay warehouse, supported by Daifuku’s Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS). More than one kilometre of conveyors provides high-speed, accurate pallet handling across multiple levels, vastly increasing storage capacity and efficiency.

Integrated with Synnex’s Sydney logistics centre and connected to its global ERP platform, the new Melbourne hub delivers improved national agility, streamlined inventory management, and enhanced accuracy. Daifuku’s automated solution operates across three floors, enabling pallet transport, multi-level Goods-to-Person picking, and consolidated ground-floor dispatch. The system ensures seamless, high-speed operations with precision and reliability.

The project required the complete relocation of stock, staff, and equipment from the neighbouring facility, completed within a tight timeframe to maintain uninterrupted operations. Daifuku and Synnex successfully executed the transition over a long weekend, drawing on meticulous onsite planning, remote monitoring, and Synnex’s MIS platform to ensure a seamless and risk-free outcome.

“This collaboration exemplifies what can be achieved through innovation and partnership, truly demonstrating Daifuku’s ability to provide global consistency and execute at a local level,” said Greg Wright, Strategic Projects Manager, Daifuku Oceania.

“We’re proud to have delivered the backbone for a high-impact operation that sets

a new benchmark in logistics performance.”

Daifuku Oceania continues to deliver integrated automation and intralogistics solutions across the region, supporting leading organisations in achieving scalable growth, efficiency, and intelligent supply chains.
